Holding Public Systems Accountable
This coalition works to hold public systems accountable for providing and promoting justice and limiting disparities and harm (particularly in the youth and adult criminal legal systems), while also supporting the development of a continuum of opportunities for Black and Brown communities that supports true accountability, healing, growth, and transformative justice.
We conduct research to understand the impact of systems on people and communities, and we disaggregate and analyze local systems data in order to understand the bigger picture. We create policy solutions informed by national best practices, research, data, and local knowledge. We provide materials, training, and networking support for advocacy and civic education efforts. We support collective planning efforts where people with lived experiences have a leadership role in developing and implementing new policies and practices.
